Islamic Capital Market workshop in Hong Kong by Mr. Faizer,Sri Lanka

Mr. Faizer was invited by the Hong Kong University
to conduct programme on Islamic Capital Market
has just returned to Colombo.

TOPCIMA specialist Mr.Faizer’s name is synonymous
with CIMA education. With over 15 years of experience
of dedicated coaching for the Final Level of CIMA
he has produced many world and Sri Lankan prize winners.
Long recognized as the best lecturer for Case study
he now holds a special place as the preferred
lecturer for TOPCIMA.

Mr.Faizer’s experience and prowess at lecturing
has been internationally recognized. He was
singled out to conduct revision programmer for
Strategic Level and TOPCIMA at CIMA Hong Kong
and for Strategic Level in Malaysia.
Mr.Faizer represented Mercury at the Lecturers’
conference held in Warwickshire,
London in December 2008.

The prestigious College of Business and Finance
of the Hong Kong University (HKU SPACE)
invited M.H.M.Faizer, Senior lecturer of the
Mercury Institute of Management
to conduct a comprehensive programme
on Islamic Capital Markets (ICM) and Instruments.

Mr.Faizer is a pioneer in the establishment of the
Islamic banking system in Sri Lanka and served as
the first CEO of the First Islamic Bank in the
country – Amana.

He was the former Deputy Director General of the
Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka.

Faizer started his career as a senior project
analyst at the NDB bank.

The programme in Hong Kong covered various aspects
and issues pertaining to the ICM and included
Islamic bonds and sukuks,
Islamic equity screening process,
Islamic mutual funds and trusts. It also covered the
Islamic Real Estate Investment Trusts (IREIT).

Shariah principles and requirements governing
all these structured products and derivatives
were actively discussed.
